The Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloth is a moist, re-usable cloth that cleans, polishes, and protects all types of metals.
The Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloth polishes everything from Silver, brass, pewter, gold, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, and nickel. The cloths are easy to use, simply wipe on and buff off with a soft cloth. The metal polishing cloths have a pleasant vanilla fragrance and leave a revolutionary anti-tarnish finish.
Start by making sure your metal piece you are going to use the cloth on is free of anything that may cause scratches along the surface of your metal. Rub the tarnished metal gently, ensuring that nothing is being scratched. For the tough jobs, add a little more elbow grease. Wipe polish off while still wet with a buffing cloth to restore your metal piece.
Tip:do not wash the polish off. Wiping this early in the polish process will lead to polish loss. Instead buff it for the final finish.
After you finish your polishing session, go ahead and take your Cape Cod Polishing Cloth and put it back into the foil pouch that you received it in. The polishing cloths can be reused as many times as possible until they disintegrate. Never wash the polishing cloth as this will take away from the polishing factor.
If you run into the issue of the polishing cloth losing it’s moisture factor go ahead and add a few drops of mineral oil to revitalize it. As long as you keep the polishing cloth in the package it should last a very long time before having to apply mineral oil.
After your polishing process is all said and done, you may clean your silverware by hand with a mild detergent. The use of a dishwasher may end up taking off more polish than wanted because of the chemicals in the soap and the speed of the water.
